Autumn 1 Week 5

This week we have been reading the story of 'The Gruffalo' and we really enjoyed re-telling it with actions. We had an interesting discussion about things that frighten us, that it is ok to feel scared and the importance of talking about with our parents or our teachers. We created story maps to sequence the events and created gruffalo masks. We have been looking at our own facial features and comparing them with that of the gruffalo, we then created our own portrait comparisons.

We have been working very hard on learning our numbers, writing them correctly and discussing sets of more and fewer. The children were very accurate in deciding which set had more or less.

We are really enjoying bringing our reading books home and sharing the stories with you. It is very important that we read everyday to help us develop our reading and language skills. Please don't forget to fill in the yellow reading record and send in the reading pack everyday.
