Autumn 1 Week 6

This week we read the story of 'Giraffes can't dance' and we really enjoyed discussing all the different things that we can do e.g. drawing, colouring, running, playing. We have been practising how to balance on one leg, hopping on each leg and skipping. These are very important skills for us to develop and it would be of great benefit to us to continue these activities at home.
Well done to all the boys and girls for completing Phase 2 Phonics. We are using this knowledge to help us segment and blend words. Blending can be tricky at times, but when we break up the word into its sounds we then need to say it a little bit faster to hear the word. Keep up the great work of reading at home every night.
In Maths we have become very competent in ordering objects according to their size. We discovered how tall and short people were in our class, along with ordering big and small objects in the classroom.
We were very lucky to have the author David Bedford come and visit our school this week. He showed us some of the books he has written and read his latest book 'Its a George Thing'.
We hope you all have a lovely weekend and we can't wait to hear all about the exciting things you do

on Sunday.
